** This review was written a few months ago and I never got around to publishing it until now. I have reviewed it and included a few things in an attempt to revamp it so apologize for how boring and informative it is. Reviewing books isn't my strong point, and I really need to work on it so please bear that in mind.

Ever since I first heard about the murders of the infamous Jack the Ripper, I've invested hours of my time dedicated to reading articles and documentaries on YouTube. There isn't an answer as to why I'm fascinated, but there's something so chilling about the whole case. I can't help wanting to know everything about it.

Anyway, let's get on to the review!

"Stalking Jack the Ripper" by Kerri Maniscalco

Title: Stalking Jack the Ripper

Author: Kerri Maniscalco

Rating: 4.5

Summary:

Set in the the late 17th Century, Audrey Rose Wadsworth isn't the typical prim and proper young social lite her father wants her to be. Instead of going to tea gathers and gossiping about those in town, you can find her in her Uncles lab, scalpel in hand, as she preforms autopsy's on the recently deceased in secret. Soon prostitutes of London are being murdered in the streets by a mad man out for revenge and Audrey can't help but want to search for any clues as to who the infamous Jack the Ripper is.

Kerri's book, "Stalking Jack the Ripper' is a bone-chilling and intense read that I recommend to those who enjoy a good thriller filled with secrets on every page and it's definitely a must for those that are obsessed with the true case like myself. I will add a cautionary for those who are fainthearted and/or do not like any amount of gore. There is a great description of autopsy procedures and graphic imagery of murdered women all throughout the book! I will be keeping this review 100% spoiler free and won't be going into detail for those who have yet read this marvelous story!

I am amazed at how clever and accurately written this retelling of the Jack the Ripper cases. Even though Kerri did tweak a few things to help benefit the story, it shows that she did a ton of research. You do have to admit, writing about a time you never lived for yourself is tricky when you want to be accurate. To produce a fictionalized story about a completely non-fictional event is astounding and to essentially have it seem real is even more brilliant! I am exceptionally in awe of Kerri Maniscalco!

Maniscalco develops such depth with characters that I can't help feeling for them. It felt almost like Audrey Rose was a new-found friend of mine, and I enjoyed every minute of my time following after her on the excursions she'd venture on as she tried to deliver justice to the victims of Bloody Jack. And of course, I can't forget about the ever so gorgeous, Thomas Cresswell! *Swoons* Normally, I don't fall so easily for men who think so highly of themselves, but I couldn't help but melt over

his brief flirtations with Audrey. Maybe I just had a sweet spot for young gentlemen in the 19th century... and come on, he has an English accent!

And before I end this tiny review, I also want to take a moment to say, the blurb on the back of the book is very misleading! I don't want anyone to set this book back on the shelf because they were led to believe this is some misogynistic, romance between a young girl and a man who murdered women in the dead of night. It is nothing of that sort, and I would never have read this book or speak highly of it!

To those of you who have read this book, did you like it? Did you see the ending coming or not? Please let me know, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
